MAKE VIRTUAL CONNECTIONS!

Determine what types of social media and internet access YW and Families have access to.

Consider making activities and lessons reoccurring so families know when to connect.

Here are some of the ways Wards are communicating with youth and parents:

  • Phone/Cell
  • Texting
  • Email
  • Circles on the Gospel Living App
  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • Google Hangouts (Free)
  • Zoom Basic (up to 100 viewers Free)
  • Skype

Doing repetitive weekly Youth Activities and Lessons using Video Conferencing.

Holding Youth presidency meeting using video (ask youth in class prior what goals they have set that the class can help support.  Then hold virtual class activities via zoom that have been created to support youth goals.)

50 Fun Things to Learn

• Use Kahoots to play games that are already made or make your own. Kahoot.com is a site where you can make a jeoprady like on-line game.  Game ideas are BOM, The Restoration, etc.  There are already some pre-made games on the site other church members have already made up, or you can make your own.  Then the youth can get on and play at a certain time, or independently.  It tracks players names and points to find a winner.

• Have youth work on memorizing The Living Christ.  This could be a Youth goal, or even a Ward Goal.  It can be broken down by the week or by the month.  Tools/helps:

• Have all of the youth film themselves reciting the entire 1st Vision.  See if a YW/YM would like to edit and splice in all the youth so that the all of the 1st Vision is recorded with different youth reciting different parts.  Then the youth can bear testimony at the end.

• Drive by birthday greetings with signs, balloons, and talking/yelling from the car to the Birthday YW on the front porch or at the end of their driveway.

• Working on Family history

Ultimate Bucket List

• Book Club (one of the YW goals)

• Escape Room

• Selfie Scavenger hunt

• Teach Art class thru video for a YW Activity

• Holding BYC and Ward Council via Zoom

• Writing notes to seniors in their ward

• Virtual Pictionary using Zoom White Board

• Hold a virtual cooking class

Earn a Party!
Good evening! To all the quarantined,
One of these days we are going to be allowed to leave our houses and resume our daily lives. When the restrictions are lifted, we will plan on having a party of your choosing. It could be a pizza party, a BBQ, lazer tag, ice cream party, etc. Whatever you’d like to do, we’ll do it. BUT. There’s a catch. You have to earn it first.
So here’s how you earn it :

  1. Download the Gospel Living App and log in using your lds account
  2. Make sure you have joined the “course 15, course 16, course 17” circle.
  3. Follow the instructions we will give you there each week.

That’s it! Every week we will give you an opportunity to gain some points by doing some activity or answering a question. For each activity you complete or answer you get correct, you gain 5 points. You can gain a maximum of 20 points per week. Once the class has gained a total of 1820 points we will have our party. If only one person does all the work, then it will take 91 weeks for you to get your party. So that means you’re going to have to work as a team to get this done. You can gain up to 10 bonus points this week if you do the following by Thursday March 26th:

  1. Download the app and join the circle
  2. Text or email me (in the same text or same email) why we chose 1820.
